It's hard to believe another school year is about to begin!  School supplies, new clothes, open houses and cooler days all indicate that it's unavoidable…it's almost time to go back!  We hope you have all had a wonderful summer and are excited to see what God may have in store for you this year.  Compass Public School Ministry is excited to offer lots of opportunities as you strive to be intentional about living out your faith where God has placed you this year.

May 31, 7pm – Minnesota Family Council Annual Dinner featuring Kirk Cameron, www.mfc.org
122 Compass teachers and parents filled a theater at Eden Prairie Center Thursday night for a free viewing of God's Not Dead 2.  In the movie, a Christian high school teacher is asked an honest question about Jesus in a public-school setting, and her reasoned response lands her in big trouble. As the principal and superintendent join forces with a zealous civil liberties group, an epic court case ensues. The battle is filled with great information about our freedoms and the historical validity of Jesus.
Mission America Leadership Summit

Update from Compass co-leader, Norene Shephard:

About a month ago I had the opportunity to represent Compass at the annual leadership summit of Mission America  Coalition.  The summit focus was Love 2020,  the mission: The whole church taking the whole Gospel to the whole nation and to the world.   The summit functions in about 30 spheres such as Justice, Health Care,  Media, Children,  Orality, and several others.  The sphere in which I participated was PK12 Education.
It is hard to believe it but we are already more than half way through this school year.  How is your journey so far?  Are you weighted down by the busy schedules and unforeseen challenges?  Or are you seeing God at work?  Encouraged by how He is coming alongside you in your public school journey?
Happy New Year Compass Parents!
How is God calling YOU to make an impact for CHRIST in your SCHOOL in 2016??
Merry Christmas! Can I say that again, "MERRY CHRISTMAS!" Feels so good to say that among the many "Happy Holidays" and "Seasons Greetings", doesn't it? Christmas is still a national holiday in this country and I, for one, am excited to celebrate what this season is all about, the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Can I get an "Amen?"
NOVEMBER has always been our favorite month at Compass Ministry and this November is no different.  We are excited to be preparing for our 3rd Annual Educator Breakfast which will be held at Grace Church on Saturday, November 21st from 9-11am.  This is a very special time when Compass invites area Christian educators called to the public schools to gather as we appreciate them for their obedience in bringing the Light of Christ into our students' schools.
